Troop 1 tries to spend two nights a month under the stars, in a tent, hammock, quinzhee, or cabin.
We have camped at Northern Star Council camps, at Minnesota and Wisconsin state parks, and National Forest Service primitive camps.
We're always looking for great places to camp and explore!
April 11-13, 2025 • Back to the Woods Camp at Stearns
• COST • Camp Registration $20 for food + $5 activity fee
• MENU • Scouts will plan meals and cook as patrols.
• PROGRAM • Unstructured "Back to the Woods" camp
This is an intentionally unstructured camp weekend. Activity plans and meal planning is up to the Scouts - either activities by patrol, or as a group. Scouts should plan to cook outdoors and sleep in tents. We will have Deckenbach shelter available but this is a single-room cabin with no amenities.
May 9-11, 2025 • Spring Camporee at Phillippo
Calling all camp cooks! The theme for the Northern Star Council Spring Camporee is Scout Chef Showdown, and will feature programs like Dutch oven cooking, backpack cooking and meals, and Troop weekend camping specialties.
For more details on program see the Spring Camporee website. If attending, fill out the Google form below - do not register directly with Council. The Troop will register as a group.
The Camporee is a Council-wide event that draws Scout troops from all across the area. The Camporee usually offers opportunities to work on merit badges, meet other Scouts, perform service projects, and camp under the stars. Scouts plan and cook meals as patrols, and sleep in tents.
August 03-09, 2025 • Summer Camp at Tomahawk Scout Camp
The highlight of any Scout's summer! We will go to Tomahawk in August this year, so that scouts going to Philmont don't miss out.
Open to Troop 1 scouts of all ages.
Join us for a full week of fun at Tomahawk! We will camp as a Troop in Quapaw, Sioux Camp, as usual. New scouts will work on skills that will help with advancement through First Class rank, and all scouts can work on merit badges. We'll also do lots of fun activities together as a Troop.
