Troop 1 tries to spend two nights a month under the stars, in a tent, hammock, quinzhee, or cabin.
We have camped at Northern Star Council camps, at Minnesota and Wisconsin state parks, and National Forest Service primitive camps.
We're always looking for great places to camp and explore!
September 12-14, 2025 • Back to the Woods at Rum River Scout Camp
An unstructured back-to-the-woods camp at Rum River. This is a "choose your own adventure" camp with no set schedule. Scouts can work on any advancement they wish through First Class rank, or they can just enjoy being out in the woods with fellow Scouts! We also hope to have the opportunity to work on the Golf merit badge (disc golf option).
September 26-28, 2025 • Fall Camporee at Stearns Scout Camp
The Northern Star Scouting Fall Camporee will be September 26-28 at Stearns Scout Camp. The theme for this Camporee is Crafts and Trades. Volunteers who work in the skilled trades or have craft skills they use in a hobby will provide hands-on activities to learn more and spark interest in doing things with their hands and minds.
Camporees are organized by Northern Star Council and are an opportunity to meet Scouts from other troops all over our area. We will need a minimum of four Scouts and two adult leaders to register for this event. Because this is a Council event, registration deadlines are set by Council.
